Job summary

Smartsearchonline is seeking a 1D Fluid Systems Simulation Engineer for a 1-year contract in Santa Clarita, CA. You will prepare, execute, and analyze system-level simulations for automotive powertrains with a high degree of autonomy and collaboration across design teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years using GT-Suite or similar tools and strong system-level simulation.
• Experience in gas-exchange, cooling, hydraulic, and mechanical systems simulation.
• Experience with co-simulation and DoE is a plus.
• Familiarity with AVL Concerto for test-data processing.
• Programming skills in MATLAB, Java, and Python.
• Working knowledge of iSight, HEEDS, and CATIA is an asset.
• Strong documentation, autonomous work style, and ability to lead development activities.

Responsibilities

• Simulation Execution: Set up and run system simulations using in-house tools and remote compute clusters.
• Analysis & Reporting: Interpret and analyze simulation results, producing summaries for engineering reviews.
• Automation Development: Create scripts/macros to streamline automated simulation workflows.
• Method Development: Innovate analytical techniques to solve system challenges.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with design engineers to support modeling and validation.
• Parametric Modeling: Develop parametric component models.
• Test & Instrumentation Understanding: Apply testing knowledge to support validation.
• Technical Presentations: Prepare presentations for engineering reviews and meetings.
