Job summary

Smartsearchonline is seeking a 1D Fluid Systems Simulation Engineer for a 1-year contract in Santa Clarita, CA. You will prepare, execute, and analyze system-level simulations for automotive powertrains with a high degree of autonomy and collaboration across design teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years using GT-Suite or similar tools and strong system-level simulation.
• Experience in gas-exchange, cooling, hydraulic, and mechanical systems simulation.
• Experience with co-simulation and DoE is a plus.
• Familiarity with AVL Concerto for test-data processing.
• Programming skills in MATLAB, Java, and Python.
• Working knowledge of iSight, HEEDS, and CATIA is an asset.
• Strong documentation, autonomous work style, and ability to lead development activities.

Responsibilities

As an integral member of our Simulation Group, you will prepare, execute, and analyze system‑level simulations while operating with a high degree of technical autonomy. Key Responsibilities

• Simulation Execution: Set up and run system simulations using in‑house tools and remote compute clusters.
• Analysis & Reporting: Interpret and analyze simulation results, producing clear summaries and insights for the broader design and development teams.
• Automation Development: Create and enhance scripts and macros to streamline and improve automated simulation workflows.

Job Requirements We are seeking an experienced, intelligent, and professional engineer with the following qualities:

• Education:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical background.
• Technical Experience:
  • Proficiency with GT‑Suite and at least 3 years of experience using GT‑Suite or equivalent tools (AmeSim, AVL Boost/Excite, Ricardo Valdyn/WAVE/EngDyn).
  • Experience in gas‑exchange, cooling, hydraulic, and mechanical systems simulation and model correlation.
  • Co‑simulation and Design of Experiments (DoE) experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with test‑data processing tools such as AVL Concerto.
  • Programming skills in MATLAB, Java, and Python.
  • Working knowledge of iSight, HEEDS, and CATIA is an asset.
