Job summary

Florida Legislature is seeking a Senate Page Program Coordinator to oversee the Senate Page Program and coordinate administrative tasks for Florida students aged 15-18. The role involves teaching topics, scheduling visits with officials, and ensuring proper handling of confidential information.

The successful candidate will oversee a small team, manage program logistics, and maintain records while complying with policies and procedures during a full-time appointment in Tallahassee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; administrative experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate program activities such as lesson plans, tours of government buildings, and deliveries within the Senate.
• Teach topics such as the legislative process, public speaking, and the Florida Constitution.
• Manage student applications and communications related to the program.
• Process confidential information.
• Respond to time-sensitive requests.
• Schedule visits with senators and other elected officials.
• Train and supervise two Temporary Session OPS employees who will assist with the program activities.
• Maintain administrative records and prepare status reports.
• Assist in formulating, interpreting, applying, and assuring conformance with administrative policies and procedures.
• Review and monitor seminars and workshops presented and conducts studies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of training programs.
• Performs other related duties as required.
