Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools across Guildford and the surrounding areas. You will support pupils with SEN, fostering their confidence, independence and social skills.

We welcome caring, patient and enthusiastic individuals, with 1:1 and small-group support experience preferred. Start date September 2026; full-time and part-time positions available across multiple schools.

Qualifications

• Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with children, young people, care or support work can be highly valuable.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and SDMH needs.
• Helping pupils access and engage with classroom learning.
• Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development.
• Implementing individual learning and support strategies.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence.
• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

We are currently looking for caring, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools across Guildford and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEN professionals, Teaching Assistants, support workers, or individuals looking to develop a rewarding career in education.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

• Supporting children with SEN, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs

• Helping pupils access and engage with classroom learning

• Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development

• Implementing individual learning and support strategies

• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence

• Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
