Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a confident, experienced and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a welcoming school based in Enfield, North London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a small Year 6 class of 12 pupils, supported by two dedicated support staff.

Although the pupils are in Year 6, they are currently working at approximately Year 1 to Year 3 academic levels, so lessons will need to be carefully adapted to meet their individual learning needs.

The class includes children with autism and a range of learning difficulties. All pupils are verbal, with social interaction and behaviour needs broadly similar to those you might expect in a Year 3 classroom.

We are looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging, appropriately differentiated lessons while maintaining a positive, structured and supportive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to pupils working at Year 1-3 academic levels.
  • Teach and support a class of 12 Year 6 pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
  • Adapt the curriculum to accommodate varying abilities and individual learning targets.
  • Manage and coordinate two classroom support staff to ensure effective pupil support.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement and participation.
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional development.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with the wider SEN team to provide a consistent and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Previous experience teaching pupils with SEN, particularly autism and learning difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and adapting the primary curriculum.
  • Confident delivering KS1 and lower KS2-level learning to older pupils.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to establish clear routines and expectations.
  • Experience leading and working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants.
  • Patient, engaging and adaptable teaching approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Why Join Remedy Education?

  • Small class of just 12 pupils with two support staff.
  • Full-time, long-term teaching opportunity.
  • Supportive school environment with an established SEN team.
