Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking an intern for the Foundry Manufacturing Quality Engineering (MQE) team in New York. You will lead a process-improvement project, help develop digital tools and dashboards, and analyze quality data to drive better performance.

You’ll collaborate with Manufacturing Quality, Process Engineering, and cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable results. The internship requires being a sophomore pursuing a technical degree, English proficiency, and a 40-hour workweek

Qualifications

• Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Lead a defined process‑improvement project focused on increasing the efficiency, effectiveness, or standardization of a manufacturing quality business process.
• Develop or enhance digital tools, dashboards, or automated workflows that provide engineering and manufacturing teams with clear visibility into quality actions, priorities, owners, and due dates.
• Collect and analyze quality process data to identify trends, gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities for improved performance or risk reduction.
• Partner with Manufacturing Quality, Process Engineering, Manufacturing, and other cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, implement solutions, document improvements, and communicate project results and recommendations.
