Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a process engineer to join the fab engineering group. You’ll focus on establishing and maintaining world-class process/equipment, implementing yield enhancements, and solving complex problems with a data-driven approach.

You’ll qualify new tools, coordinate qualifications, analyze data with Python/VBA, and revise SOPs. The role includes night shifts and full-time on-site work in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering/related field.
• Experience scripting in Python or VBA; data analysis using statistical methods.
• Knowledge of Lean, TPS or 5S; problem-solving methodologies (8D, 7-step).
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment or process failures.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and lift under 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication processes and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate process qualifications and downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends, and inform decisions.
• Make adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitor parameters after maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to processes or equipment.
• Present technical information within the department and revise SOPs.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
