Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer to monitor wafer fabrication, qualify new tools, and drive process improvements. You will analyze data, identify trends, and implement adjustments to keep production in spec.

The role requires a strong engineering background and experience with Python or VBA, Spotfire/JMP/MATLAB, and Lean/6S principles. The position is full-time, on-site in Austin, with a comprehensive benefits package and potential incentives based on performance.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods.
• Change Point Management.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
• Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab).
• Troubleshooting Equipment or Process failures.

Responsibilities

• Monitors wafer fabrication process and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualifies wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinates scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime.
• Uses software to analyze data and identify trends.
• Makes adjustments when process parameters are exceeded.
• Executes in-line changes to process or equipment.
• Revises SOPs and develops improved processes.
