Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Layout Designer / Layout Engineer to design and coordinate process equipment layouts for semiconductor fabrication and high-tech facilities. You will work under senior staff to develop constructible, code-compliant layouts supporting schedule, safety, and quality goals.

Responsibilities include interpreting supplier drawings, creating CAD blocks, and collaborating with PMs, vendors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in semiconductor layout or high-tech tool install projects.
• Strong ability to read and mark up drawings for constructability and safety.
• Proficient with AutoCAD; exposure to Revit desirable.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn and coordinate with multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning production facilities and equipment layouts, learning to evaluate space and flow constraints.
• Interpret supplier equipment drawings and develop tool CAD blocks (2D/3D) or Revit RFAs based on supplier drawings.
• Support development of manufacturing process layouts based on client tool quantities and priorities.
• Prepare drawings, models, and documentation for tool connections, equipment clearances, and utility routing.
• Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, vendors, and contractors to resolve design requirements and interface conflicts.
• Attend design reviews and client meetings; capture comments and incorporate feedback into revisions.
• Participate in site walks and verify field conditions; identify clashes or scope gaps.
• Document risks related to schedule, installation sequencing, safety, and access.
• Compile as-built information, redlines, and closeout comments for package turnover.
• Follow client safety protocols, cleanroom requirements, and facility standards.
