Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Semiconductor Equipment Technician I for our Amherst, NY facility. You will process and coat ESCs to customer specs, loading and unloading coating chambers with precision. The role operates Wed-Sat, 10:00 pm–8:30 am, and requires attention to detail and adherence to standardized methods.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, manufacturing experience, and basic MS Office skills. Vacuum knowledge is a plus; lifting 44 pounds is expected in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in a relevant technical field preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on experience may substitute for a 2-year degree.
• Experience in the Semiconductor industry is preferred.
• Manufacturing / production experience required/desired.
• Good work ethics and teamwork oriented.
• Computer skills including MS Office.
• Ability to lift 44 pounds.
• Vacuum knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor the coating machines.
• Pre-treat customer products using standardized methods for coating.

Your Responsibilities:

• The main responsibility is to prepare the coating system, load, unload the chamber with extreme care and attention to detail.
• Set up and monitoring of the Coating Machines
• Pre-treat a variety of customer products using rigorous standardized methods to prepare products for coating.
• Be able to make critical processing decisions, to initiate the coating process as well as be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.
• Handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Your Profile:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate degree (2-year) in a relevant field such as; Electrical / Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Industrial or Manufacturing Technology (preferred)
• Equivalent hands-on experience in a manufacturing or technical trade environment may be considered in place of a 2-year degree
• Experience in the Semiconductor industry is preferred.
• Manufacturing / production experience.
• Good work ethics.
• Team orientated.
• Computer skills, be able to utilize MS Office on the job.
• Required to lift 44 pounds with extreme care.
• Vacuum knowledge preferred but not required.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $22 to $26 per hour. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
