Job summary

Periodic Labs is seeking a Research Engineer, Semiconductor, to own device‑level validation of our materials work, taking novel thin‑film stacks from deposition through patterned test vehicles to measure electrical performance.

You will design and run short‑loop experiments, connect materials and interface properties to device outcomes, and contribute technical expertise to customer‑facing engagements while collaborating across teams to solve hard materials problems.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with relevant experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor device development or process integration.
  • Strong understanding of device physics and integration flows.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and characterize short-loop device test vehicles.
  • Build patterned devices end-to-end using lithography and deposition.
  • Deposit thin-film stacks with engineered interfaces.
  • Perform electrical characterization on probe stations and custom test benches.
  • Link material properties to device outcomes and guide development.
  • Contribute to customer-facing engagements with experimental plans and results.
  • Document methodology, results, and learnings for internal knowledge.
