Job summary

SkyWater Technology, Inc. is seeking a Development Engineering Technician to join a fast-paced semiconductor development team in Bloomington, MN.

You will help execute engineering experiments, troubleshoot material issues, and support technology development programs that directly impact customer and internal R&D success. Key responsibilities include real-time development support, non-conforming material disposition, and documentation of processes and metrology.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of technician experience in a semiconductor fab or similar cleanroom/manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of semiconductor processing in at least one area: Photolithography, Diffusion, Etch, Thin Films, CMP, or Implant/RTA.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to work C Shift (Thu-Sat + every other Wed, 6:00 AM-6:15 PM).
• U.S. Citizenship required for government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support development work in real time by communicating with Development Engineers to keep experiments on schedule.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues by evaluating non-conforming material with engineering teams.
• Execute engineering experiments using the ATS Technician Request system to support validation and development programs.
• Gain broad fab knowledge across 100+ toolsets and expose yourself to Photolithography, Etch, Thin Films, CMP, Implant/RTA, and more.
• Create and refine technical documentation, work instructions, and metrology recipes to improve repeatability.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance process quality in collaboration with teams.
• Assume increasing responsibility and autonomy as knowledge grows.
• Support ATS engineering and development priorities as needed.
