Job summary

Truck Town is seeking a hands-on mechanic to repair systems and components of Class 8 semi trucks. Duties include minor mechanical repairs, tire changes, brakes, chrome installation, and wheel polishing. Training may be provided for all tasks.

Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, read and comprehend specifications and service literature, and maintain an organized work area. Excellent team environment in a busy shop with regular daytime hours.

• Individual must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, and other diagnostics to perform repairs.
• Must maintain an organized work area and clean up after yourself throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs on Class 8 semi trucks and trailers.
• Carry out minor mechanical repairs, tire changes, brakes, and related maintenance.
• Install chrome and polish wheels and components.
• Keep a clean, safe work area and follow shop procedures.
• Willingness to train for all listed tasks.

Job description

We are looking for an individual to handle the repair of the systems and components of Class 8 semi trucks. Job duties include but not limited to: minor mechanical repairs, tire changes, brakes, chrome installation, wheel polishing. Willing to train the right person for all of these tasks.

Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Work Environment: This is a hands-on position working on semi-trucks and trailers. Trucks & trailers come into the shop greasy, dirty, and covered in road grime—and you will get greasy and dirty while working on them. This is part of the job.If you are not comfortable getting dirty, greasy, and working in a real shop environment, this position is not a good fit for you.
