Job description

Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance for on‑highway trucks. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs, and perform critical repairs and adjustments. This role involves hands‑on mechanical work in a shop environment.

Essential Functions

• Safely and repeatedly lift components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance
• Safely lift, carry, and lower components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
• Climb on and off equipment and work at varying heights
• Stand, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods
• Safely operate tools and equipment

Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Basic mechanical knowledge, including electrical and hydraulic systems
• Knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, and instruments
• Knowledge of use of various on‑highway trucks
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, and technical bulletins

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one
• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry, specifically with Class8 trucks
