Job summary

Indy is seeking a dependable labor maintenance worker for the DPW Operations Maintenance Section. You will assist with asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete work, playground equipment repair, grounds keeping, and snow removal as needed.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and may involve lifting over 25 pounds. A valid Indiana driver’s license is preferred. Work is outdoors and indoors with varying weather; overtime may be required.

Job description

Position is responsible for providing general labor maintenance skills to the DPW Operations Maintenance Section. Provide general labor functions commonly associated with City municipal work assignments.

Assists with asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete work, playground equipment repair, grounds keeping and other related duties.

Assists with snow removal functions.

Cleans/washes equipment as needed.

Operates small motorized equipment.

Assists with the daily care and maintenance of tools and supplies.

High School diploma or equivalent required. May be required to perform manual tasks that require lifting and carrying of objects in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds or more. A valid Indiana Driver's License is preferred.

Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to varying weather conditions. May be exposed to intermittent noise, dust, dirt, odors, solvents, heights and confined spaces. May be required to work overtime.
