Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) is seeking an Opportunity & Self-Sufficiency Case Manager to support families with rental subsidies toward long-term self-sufficiency. You will manage a dedicated caseload, conduct home visits, and build partnerships with local resources to offer financial wellness and homeownership readiness.

The role emphasizes resident leadership, on-site engagement, and collaboration with the ECHO team to deliver site-based programs and services across family

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field required.
• Minimum 2–4 years of goal-oriented case management, financial coaching, or resident services experience.
• Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed communication, and person-centered goal setting.
• Experience building partnerships and advising resident groups.
• Experience using Resident Connect to document notes and report outcomes; proficient in Outlook/Word/Excel/Access/Teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 25–30 families receiving rental subsidies with goal-focused support.
• Screen eligibility and maintain active caseload across multiple properties.
• Conduct home visits, meet participants on-site, and visit community locations.
• Collaborate with families to apply problem-solving and action steps toward self-sufficiency.
• Empower families using Motivational Interviewing to reach personal goals.
• Maintain participant records in Resident Connect and track progress.
• Build partnerships with local financial institutions and housing resources.
• Support Resident Councils and coordinate community programming with ECHO staff.
