Job summary

Aurora Housing Authority - Colorado seeks a Self-Sufficiency Case Manager to implement and operate a program supporting families with rental subsidies. You’ll carry a 25‑30 family caseload, set goals, and help increase earned income towards long-term self-sufficiency.

You’ll also lead community partnerships, drive resident leadership, and support site-based opportunities across all family properties, including two Resident Councils.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years experience delivering goal-oriented case management, financial coaching, or resident services in housing/community settings.
• Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed communication, person-centered goal setting, and maintaining professional boundaries.
• Experience developing partnerships, coordinating workshops, and advising resident groups or community councils.
• Experience using Resident Connect to document notes, track attendance, and report outcomes; proficient in Outlook/Word/Excel/Access/Teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of 25–30 families with high-touch, individualized support focused on goal setting, income progression, and self-sufficiency.
• Screen and determine eligibility, maintaining an active caseload across multiple properties.
• Conduct in-person visits, home visits, and meetings at on-site property offices or community locations.
• Collaborate with families to apply strengths-based problem-solving as barriers arise and adjust action plans.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing to empower families toward self-identified goals.
• Implement program policies and milestones from intake through graduation.
• Maintain participant records in Resident Connect, including referrals and progress toward goals.
• Build partnerships with local financial institutions and workforce resources for financial wellness and homeownership readiness.
• Coordinate involvement of Resident Councils and support community programming across properties.
