Job summary

Higley Construction in Cleveland, OH seeks a Self-Perform Project Engineer to support planning and execution of self-perform carpentry and general trades work. You will assist with RFIs, submittals, drawing coordination, cost tracking, documentation, safety and quality initiatives.

You will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, field teams and trade partners to meet budget, schedule and customer service expectations while maintaining a safe, high‑quality job site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in engineering, construction management or self-perform work preferred.
• Construction internship/co-op experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports self-perform carpentry, finished carpentry, millwork, drywall, and general trades work.
• Assists with material takeoffs, quantity verification, bid preparation, scope review, procurement of materials and equipment.
• Manages project engineering duties including RFIs, submittals, drawing coordination, meeting minutes, project correspondence, and document control.
• Assists with change management, cost tracking, forecasting, and preparation of project financial information.
• Supports field coordination, workforce planning, daily documentation, material deliveries, and trade partner coordination.
• Reviews drawings and specs to identify scope requirements and support issue resolution.
