Job summary

Higley Construction, a 100% employee-owned firm in the United States, seeks a Self-Perform Project Engineer to support self-perform carpentry and general trades. You will assist project leaders with engineering, estimating, material takeoffs, field coordination, cost tracking, documentation, safety, and quality.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, field teams, and trade partners to deliver on budget, schedule, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, a construction-related field, or relevant experience.
• No previous experience is required; 1-2 years of experience in engineering, construction management, self-perform work, or a related field is beneficial.
• Construction internship, co-op, field, or trade experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supports self-perform carpentry, finished carpentry, millwork, drywall, and general trades work in both the office and field.
• Assists with material takeoffs, quantity verification, bid preparation, scope review, and procurement of materials and equipment.
• Manages project engineering duties, including RFIs, submittals, drawing coordination, meeting minutes, project correspondence, and document control.
• Assists the Project Manager with change management, cost tracking, forecasting support, and preparation of project financial information.
• Assists the Superintendent with field coordination, workforce planning, daily documentation, material deliveries, and trade partner coordination.
• Reviews construction drawings, specifications, and other contract documents to identify scope requirements and support issue resolution.
