Rogers Memorial Hospital is seeking a Self-Pay Billing and Follow-Up Specialist to resolve self-pay accounts while maintaining excellent patient relations. The role emphasizes compassionate customer service, negotiation of payments, and clear communication of billing processes in alignment with hospital policies and HIPAA requirements.

You will engage with patients, guarantors, and departments, aiming to reduce accounts receivable and promote financial solvency.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in clerical/customer service role in healthcare preferred.
• Experience with EOBs, CPT, HCFA, UB04, authorizations/referrals and revenue cycle workflows.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsabilidades

• Handle all communications (phone, email, and mail) with patients and departments to resolve self-pay balances.
• Negotiate full payment and establish payment plans per policy; offer financial assistance as available.
• Respond to voicemails and emails promptly; educate patients on billing processes and policies.
• Reduce accounts receivable and report issues to leadership; maintain 3-business day turnaround.
• Assist external users and ensure understanding of solutions; provide additional education as needed.
• Participate in team problem-solving to improve service delivery and productivity.
