Job summary

Epiny in Webster, NY seeks a part-time Direct Support professional to assist a 21-year-old male with brain injury and disabilities. Responsibilities include supervision, training, and helping with daily living and community activities.

The role requires a valid NY driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and completion of required trainings within 90 days. Schedule is Mon-Fri mornings; pay ranges from $26 to $32 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be trained in all required trainings within 90 days of being hired and maintain current certifications with all required trainings.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be 18 years or older

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, training, and assistance in activities of daily living for a 21 year old male with brain injury and other disabilities.
• Assist with daily living skills, organization, and community activities; help find activities he enjoys.
• Support independent living and promote a dignified life.
• Travel as needed for community activities and appointments.

Job description

Job Purpose:

• Assist individuals with brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other neurological disabilities in achieving a challenging, stimulating, dignified life by serving as an advocate and liaison for and on behalf of individuals' rights and benefits.

Essential Functions:

• Provide supervision, training, and assistance in accomplishing activities of daily living, which includes, but is not limited to, self-care skills, social skills, recreation skills, community skills, and domestic skills for a 21 year old male. In need of well organized Com Hab staff to assist with daily living skills such as managing stressors and staying organized. Also assisting with finding activities in the community, he enjoys playing baseball, basketball, video games and likes to stay active. He lives independently out in the community as well.

Location:

Webster, NY

Schedule:

• Part Time (20-24.9)
• Monday-Friday (mornings)

Pay Rate:

$26/hr-$32/hr

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent; one-year experience in the human service field preferred.
