Job summary

MSD of Warren Township is seeking an Instructional Assistant in a Special Education self-contained setting. You will support a Special Education Teacher, assist students with diverse needs, and help maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

The role involves behavioral support, data tracking, assistive technology use, and collaboration with staff. Schedule aligns with school calendar; 181 days and 7 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• ParaPro Assessment or equivalent certification may be required.
• Experience with school-age children with special needs preferred.
• Ability to meet paraprofessional requirements per ESSA and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs.
• Assist with behavior management and safety according to IEPs.
• Familiarize students with assistive technology tools and support use.
• Collaborate with the teacher to prepare instructional materials and adapt curriculum.
• Collect and document student progress data for IEP reports and meetings.
• Support inclusion of students in general education activities.
• Maintain open communication with teachers and other staff.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to special education.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
