Job summary

MSD of Warren Township is seeking an Instructional Assistant (Special Education: 1 on 1 EA) to provide individualized educational support under licensed staff supervision. The role emphasizes access to instruction, independence, and confidentiality in a school setting in Indiana.

The assistant will work one-on-one with a student during lessons, assist with materials and technology, and support progress toward IEP goals while adhering to district procedures and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; an Associate degree or higher is preferred.
• Must meet paraprofessional requirements including background checks and the Expanded Criminal History Check.
• Experience supporting students in a school, special education, accessibility, scribing, note-taking, rehab, or related setting is preferred.
• Ability to use educational technology and assistive devices to support learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one assistance during lessons, independent work, assessments, transitions, and other school activities.
• Assist with note-taking, keyboarding, document navigation, page turning, organizing materials, and other tasks needed for access to academic work.
• Familiarize the student with assistive technology tools and aid them in using these devices.
• Observe students, report changes to staff, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Follow IEPs, teacher directions, and district policies to support learning and safety.
