Responsibilities

As a Self-Checkout Host at Sprouts Farmers Market, you are the face of the company, providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with scanning and self-paying for their items.

• Oversee self-checkout units, ensuring complete customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service.
• Assist customers with scanning, weighing, bagging, and paying for their items to ensure a smooth process.
• Serve multiple customers simultaneously and anticipate potential issues.
• Answer questions and resolve issues related to large items, scanning, weighing, or payment.
• Monitor scanning activity for accuracy.
• Encourage customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially during busy times.
• Maintain knowledge of weekly ads, promotions, and store events; guide customers to product locations.
• Keep self-checkout areas clean and organized, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience; cashier experience preferred.
• Positive attitude with excellent customer interaction skills.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for extended periods.
• Proficiency in cash handling, math, and attention to detail.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $16.65 - $21.65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
