Responsibilities

As a Self-Checkout Host, you represent our company by providing outstanding customer service while assisting customers with scanning and self-paying for their items.

• Oversee self-checkout units, ensuring customer satisfaction through prompt and friendly service.
• Assist customers with scanning, weighing, bagging, and paying for their items to ensure a smooth checkout process.
• Serve multiple customers simultaneously and anticipate potential issues.
• Address customer questions and resolve issues related to scanning, weighing, or payments.
• Monitor scanning activity for accuracy.
• Encourage customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially during busy times.
• Stay informed about weekly deals, promotions, and store events; guide customers to product locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the self-checkout area and perform other duties as assigned.
• Thank customers as they leave the self-checkout area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Previous retail, customer service, or sales experience preferred; 1-2 years cashier experience is a plus.
• Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate front-end equipment such as registers, calculators, and scanners.
• Dependable with flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs. and move grocery carts requiring up to 35 lbs. of force.
• Strong attention to detail, proficiency with numbers, cash handling, and math skills.

Pay Range

The hourly pay for this role is $16.65 to $21.65, based on experience and qualifications.
