Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate at Store 01213 in Seven Lakes, NC to deliver fast, easy, and friendly customer service. You will greet customers, assist with Self-checkout, and ensure smooth operation of the front-end area while maintaining clean and organized conditions.

Responsibilities include engaging customers, guiding them through self-checkout, handling payments and vouchers, and collaborating with store leadership to meet service standards and maximize sales.

Qualifications

• Front-end customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to greet customers and engage them in a friendly manner.
• Assist customers with Self-checkout and hand scanner usage.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and use their name when possible
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts and the hand scanner
• Respond to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications
• Monitor self-checkouts for proper usage and item scanning accuracy
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or under baby seats
• Assist in scanning orders and instruct on payment when needed
• Complete self-checkout voids and age-restricted item verifications
• Avoid unnecessary conversations when customers are present
• Follow procedures for payment processing at self-checkout for checks and coupons
• Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed
• Engage self-checkout customers needing assistance
• Be courteous to customers and associates
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge
• Collect and return shopping carts from self-checkout area
• Ensure the self-checkout area is neat and clean
• Report self-checkout issues to management
• Adhere to all company guidelines and standard practices
• Ability to troubleshoot self-checkout when needed
