Job Description
The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by ensuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include shipping temperature-controlled and undamaged products, verifying the proper count of goods at customer locations, and maintaining FIFO inventory levels.
Compensation
$750.00 per week during training
Required Skills and Abilities
- 1-3 years of experience in a related position; experience in distribution and warehousing within a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible hours.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50/80 pounds regularly).
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Computer skills, ideally with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Ability to follow safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50/80 pounds regularly.
- Respond quickly to sounds and respond to dangerous situations.
- Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Work briefly in cooler and freezer environments.
Minimum Selector Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- One year of experience in a related position within distribution and warehousing in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners.
- Proper stacking and wrapping of pallets.
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders in English.
Selector Demands
- Taking orders and locating required goods.
- Packaging items.
- Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, starting at 6AM.
Accountabilities
- Accurately count and assemble parcels according to purchase orders.
- Maintain product integrity and temperature controls.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure food safety and quality.
- Work efficiently and timely, always prioritizing safety.
- Follow FIFO system and assist with inventory reports, adjustments, and damage assessments.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup.
- Ensure safe truck loading through proper stacking and pallet wrapping.
- Replenish stock and stage items for loading.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, optimizing space and removing packaging after picking.
- Properly use and apply license plates for tracking.
