Job Description
The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include shipment of temperature-controlled and undamaged products, proper count of goods at customer locations, and maintaining inventory levels according to FIFO principles.
Compensation
$750.00 per week during training
Required Skills and Abilities
- 1-3 years in a related position, with experience in distribution and warehousing in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible hours.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50/80 pounds regularly).
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
- Computer skills, ideally with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Ability to follow safety protocols.
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50/80 pounds regularly.
- Respond quickly to sounds and respond to dangerous situations.
- Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Work briefly in cooler and freezer environments.
Minimum Selector Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- At least 1 year of experience in a related position within distribution and warehousing food manufacturing.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, RF scanners.
- Properly stack and wrap pallets.
- Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods.
- Ability to read and understand purchase orders and directions in English.
Selector Demands
- Order taking and item retrieval.
- Packaging items.
- Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, starting at 6 AM.
Accountabilities
- Accurately count and assemble parcels according to purchase orders.
- Maintain product integrity and temperature controls.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure food safety and quality.
- Work efficiently and timely, always prioritizing safety.
- Follow FIFO system for inventory management.
- Assist with reports such as inventory counts, adjustments, and damage reports.
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup.
- Ensure trucks are safe through proper stacking and pallet wrapping.
- Replenish stock as needed.
- Stack pallets according to food safety specifications.
- Stage items properly for loading.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Properly use license plates and other identification tools.
