General Description
Responsible for managing the operational activities for the Select Commercial Lines Account Management team in the assigned region. Ensure the service team maintains 92% or above client retention and supports the USI sales process.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment, management, and development of the Select Commercial Lines Account Management team, including training, coaching, and performance management.
- Keep account management team informed on industry trends and USI processes through regular team and individual meetings.
- Accountable for the team achieving 92% or above client retention; regularly meet with account managers to strategize on upcoming renewals.
- Promote account rounding and cross‑sell/referral opportunities.
- Work with regional and national leadership to meet corporate profit and growth objectives.
- Optimize the Select Commercial Lines book of business via the client service model, comprising account management, outsourcing, and segmentation.
- Develop and maintain carrier relationships to renew policies timely and solve client and account management issues.
- Maintain quality control using reports to renew policies, avoid lapses in coverage, and achieve service goals; perform periodic quality audits.
- Adhere to the company’s credit and collection policy in invoicing and pursuing prompt client payments.
- Oversee team workload and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
- Create and maintain relationships with regional peers to foster internal stewardship; expedite segmentation transfers in conjunction with the regional project manager and commercial lines middle market managers.
- Develop effective interdepartmental communication strategies and foster a sales‑oriented culture.
- Integrate new acquisition personnel and clients into the Select Commercial Lines service model and processes.
- Support new business growth and assign service team resources.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 7+ years of experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance Agency.
- College degree preferred.
- Prior managerial experience preferred; ability to manage others effectively.
- In‑depth knowledge of agency management system functionality, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes.
- Must hold a state Property & Casualty insurance license.
- Industry designation such as ARM, CIC, or CPCU preferred or expected to pursue a designation.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
- Comfortable with internet‑based programs and Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred, but not required.
- Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with minimal instruction and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
