Job summary

Bedford Public Schools invites applications for the Educational Support Professional (Tier 3 general education) in the Social, Emotional and Behavioral Intervention area. The ESP will support SEL interventions, behavior plans, and data-driven progress within the school environment under counseling staff guidance.

Responsibilities include supervising students, providing instructional support, consulting with teachers, and assisting with crisis intervention as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred in psychology, education or related area.
• Ability to collect, record and analyze data across multiple data points.
• Experience supporting students with social-emotional learning (SEL) and behavior plans.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom routines and reinforce social interaction programs (PBIS, RULER, Responsive Classroom).
• Supervise students in all school environments (recess, lunch, arrival, dismissal, field trips).
• Provide small group or individual instructional support aligned with goals and IEPs.
• Consult with teachers to understand learning targets and expectations.
• Support academic and behavioral programs, including data collection and progress monitoring.
• Provide regular feedback to staff on student progress toward goals.
• Work with the classroom teacher to support learners and priority students.
• Assist in implementing behavior intervention plans and social skill facilitation.
• Support crisis intervention as needed with de-escalation and safety procedures.
• Adapt to varying needs of students and maintain confidentiality.

Education

Associate's Degree in Psychology, Education or related area
