Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a part-time driver to operate an automobile, minibus, or light duty truck to transport people, equipment, and supplies. The position supports mail and services operations within the department 100085 Mail-Fac & Services, and reports with a daytime shift and 24 scheduled hours per week.

Pay ranges from $19.51 to $26.47 per hour, with pay steps per the collective bargaining agreement; candidate pays will be set per agreement terms.

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to read, write and perform arithmetic.
• Safe driving record and a valid driver’s license.
• 2+ years of relevant driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates an automobile, minibus, or light duty truck to transport persons, equipment, or supplies.
• Transports persons and/or loads, hauls and delivers supplies, equipment, lab tests, mail and freight.
• Maintains and may perform minor repair work on vehicles.
• Keeps forms or records of vehicle trips, mileage, gas, repairs, etc., and summarizes into periodic reports.
• Assists in receiving and shipping areas when requested and performs other duties as directed.

The referenced pay range represents the first and last step pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

TYPICAL DUTIES:1.Drives automobile, minibus, or light duty truck. 2.Transports persons and/or loads, hauls and delivers supplies, equipment, lab tests, mail and freight.3.Maintains and may perform minor repair work on vehicles.4.May keep special forms or records of vehicle trips, mileage, gas, repairs, etc., and summarize into periodic reports. 5.Assists in receiving and shipping areas when requested and performs other duties as directed. QUALIFICATIONS:Requires the ability to read, write and perform arithmetic, a safe driving record, a driver’s license, and 2 or more years of relevant driving experience.
