Job summary

SyMec LLC in the United States is seeking a SEIT Engineer to drive defense system engineering across the full lifecycle, from requirements definition to integration and verification. You will collaborate with hardware, software, cybersecurity, and government stakeholders, and manage baselines from design reviews through test and delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field.
  • 3–5+ years of DoD or aerospace systems engineering, integration, and/or test experience.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, or Jama.
  • Solid understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle (V-model) and DoD acquisition milestones.
  • Hands-on experience writing and executing test procedures in a lab or field environment.
  • U.S. citizenship required for clearance.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, decompose, and manage system and subsystem requirements with traceability through verification.
  • Author and maintain systems engineering artifacts (SEMPs, ICDs, SRSs, CONOPS).
  • Plan and run integration activities across hardware, software, and external interfaces.
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports; lead lab, FAT, and SAT testing.
  • Build and execute Verification Cross-Reference Matrices (VCRMs).
  • Troubleshoot integration and test anomalies and drive root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Prepare for and support SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR and government milestone events.
  • Manage configuration baselines and engineering change processes.
  • Coordinate with cybersecurity engineers to meet RMF and ATO requirements.
  • Build MBSE models to support architecture and trade studies.

SyMec helps deliver mission-critical technology and engineering solutions while protecting the systems that warfighters and national security professional rely on every day. We’re looking for a SEIT Engineer who wants their work to matter.

As a SEIT Engineer, you'll carry defense systems through their whole lifecycle: defining requirements, integrating hardware and software, and verifying that the finished system does what the customer needs. You'll work across engineering disciplines, with subcontractors, and with government stakeholders, and you'll own the technical thread from design reviews through test and delivery.

** The Role**

** Required Qualifications**

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including presenting at customer technical reviews
  • U.S. citizenship (required for clearance)
** Compensation**
  • Competitive Salary: $115,000 - $187,000
