Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Seed Technician in Grinnell, Iowa to operate equipment, monitor processes and apply real-time data to optimize production. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, basic IT skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. You may work days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Basic IT knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is required; MVR review may be part of screening.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment in production sites and use real time data to maximize procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment, processes, and systems.
• Support continuous improvement practices (5S, Lean, Six Sigma) in the plant.
• Provide coaching to seasonal workforce and trainees.
• Use SAP to document readings, maintenance orders and production information.
• Maintain process documentation such as operating and start-up/shut-down procedures.
