Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to lead and contribute on sediment remediation projects for federal and public sector clients. The role requires independent work and team leadership across engineers and scientists.

Ideal candidates will have experience with sediment remediation methods, regulatory knowledge (CERCLA, GLBA/other), and strong communication to clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Travel frequency is contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise evaluating remediation technologies and design sediment remediation for riverine, coastal, riparian, and port sites.
• Understand principles of sediment transport, site assessment, sampling/monitoring, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design.
• Support statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on sediment projects, communicating technical strategy to clients and SMEs.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
