Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and design sediment remediation solutions for riverine, coastal, riparian/floodplain, and port settings.
• Understand the scientific and engineering principles of sediment transport, environmental site assessment, sampling/monitoring technologies, cap modeling, dredge approaches, remedial action design, and remedial construction.
• Provide support for mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data sets.
• Serve as CDM Smith’s task manager on various components of complex sediment sites, communicating technical strategy to clients and coordinating with subject matter experts.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of CERCLA, GLLA, and other regulatory steps for contaminated sediment sites.
• Act as a technical liaison with clients and outside consultants, conveying complex evaluations to non-experts.
• Lead junior staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents to ensure they are sound and compliant.
