CDM Smith is seeking a mid- to senior-level Sediment Remediation Scientist or Geologist to independently lead projects and mentor a team of engineers and scientists on sediment remediation initiatives for federal and public sector clients.

The role emphasizes evaluating remediation technologies, regulatory compliance (CERCLA/GLLA), and effective client communication while guiding project strategy and technical direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 7 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Experience leading engineers/scientists on sediment remediation projects.
• Experience with CERCLA and regulatory steps for contaminated sites.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate sediment remediation technologies and prepare designs for various settings.
• Understand principles of contaminant transport, site assessment, sampling, cap modeling, dredge approaches, and remedial design/construction.
• Support mathematical/statistical evaluations of environmental data.
• Serve as task manager on sediment sites, communicating strategy to clients and internal experts.
• Lead staff in preparing and reviewing technical documents to ensure sound, compliant work.
