Amazon Security in Herndon, VA seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a team building security tooling for a U.S. Government program in a classified environment.

You will own the tooling roadmap from requirements to production, balancing new capabilities with reliability and scale. You will hire and develop engineers, set high standards, and collaborate with security engineers, program managers, and Government partners to deliver impactful automation and risk reduction.

Formación

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI.
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
• Experience with AWS products and services.
• Experience building security tooling, security automation, or internal developer platforms.
• Experience leading engineering teams in classified or regulated environments.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, hire, and develop a team of software development engineers, and set clear goals and performance expectations.
• Own the security tooling roadmap, working with security engineering customers to prioritize the tools that most reduce risk and manual effort.
• Deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable tooling and automation from design through deployment and operations.
• Drive technical design reviews and architecture decisions for security tooling services.
• Set operational excellence standards, including CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and on-call health.
• Report progress, risks, and adoption metrics clearly to senior leadership.
