Job summary

The Oregon Department of Corrections is seeking a Security Threat Manager to join its leadership team. The role involves emergency management, threat assessment, and high‑risk supervision of adults in custody across correctional facilities.

Travel throughout Oregon is required, with potential out‑of‑state travel for special operations. Minimum qualifications include 3 years in a security setting with AICs, and at least 1 year at sergeant level, plus the ability to obtain a DPSST Correctional

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of security experience in the ODOC with Adults in Custody; one year at Sergeant level.
• Must obtain DPSST Correctional Certificate within one year.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Chief of Security during emergencies and manage threats to staff and facilities.
• Provide supervision and case management for high-risk Adults in Custody (AICs).
• Maintain regular contact with AICs to enforce rules and expectations and adjust restrictions as needed.
• Coordinate with ODOC leadership, inspectors, and unit managers to support operations.
• Travel to facilities as needed to assist with security threat management and emergency incidents.
• Assist with Emergency Preparedness drills, exercises, and evaluations.
• Plan targeted contraband searches and intelligence gathering across ODOC facilities.
