Job Summary

Reporting to the University of Colorado's Division of Public Safety and Department of Security Services, the Security Technology Operations Professional supports the safety and security of the university community through oversight, governance, coordination, and technical administration of electronic security systems. This position is primarily field-based and requires extensive hands-on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining electronic security systems. The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the installation and support of security technology devices, including video surveillance cameras, electronic access control systems and card readers, intercoms, door hardware, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include performing field installations, cable termination, equipment testing, system commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and connectivity issues.

This position ensures that security technologies function as an integrated, campus-wide safety system capable of supporting coordinated emergency response, rather than as standalone components. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in security systems and surveillance technologies, problem solving skills, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
