Role Description

The Security Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wilmington, DE. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining alarm systems, video surveillance, access control, and related security equipment at commercial and residential client sites. Day-to-day tasks include performing system testing, troubleshooting technical issues, running and terminating structured cabling, and ensuring all installations meet company standards and safety regulations. The Security Technician will interact with customers to explain system features, provide training on equipment use, and respond to service calls and maintenance requests. The role also requires accurate documentation of work performed, coordination with project managers and team members, and adherence to security and occupational health guidelines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with security systems and related hardware.
• Knowledge of alarm systems and hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Understanding of cybersecurity and network security principles as they relate to modern security systems.
• Awareness of occupational health and safety practices when working with electrical systems, ladders, and tools.
• Experience with video surveillance, access control, and structured cabling; familiarity with fiber optics is beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and installation manuals.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in and around Wilmington, DE.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or vocational training in security systems or low-voltage electrical work are a plus.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on project and service needs.
