Job summary

RapidFire Safety & Security is seeking a senior-level technician with hands-on expertise in Maxxess, Bosch, DMP, and Ubiquiti networks. You will install, program, commission, and troubleshoot access control, intrusion, fire, networking, and video systems on-site for clients in Southern California.

The ideal candidate performs high-level fieldwork with minimal supervision, diagnoses complex issues, and contributes to safety, quality, and timely project delivery. Apprenticeship path offered.

Qualifications

• Senior-level technician with hands-on installation, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of access control and video systems.
• Experience with long-range video applications, camera/lens selection, wireless connectivity, and network configuration.
• Ability to diagnose complex system issues and complete high-level fieldwork with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to enroll in an apprenticeship program (3 years).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a senior-level technician with extensive hands-on experience in Maxxess access control, Bosch security and video systems, DMP systems, and Ubiquiti networking and wireless equipment. Proficiency with all four platforms is required. The ideal candidate must be capable of independently installing, programming, commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting access control, intrusion, fire alarm, networking, and video surveillance systems. Advanced experience with long-range video applications, including camera and lens selection, wireless connectivity, aiming, focusing, network configuration, and image optimization, is essential. This is not an entry-level position; the successful candidate must diagnose complex system issues and complete high-level fieldwork with minimal supervision.

Knowledge and Other Skills:

• Install IP CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and integrated security systems
  (DMP, Bosch, Honeywell, Verint, 3VR, OpenEye, Lenel, Axis)
• Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring per spec and code
• Mount panels, power supplies, readers, cameras, and devices clean, level, and secure
• Troubleshoot and correct installation issues in the field
• Test and commission systems prior to leaving site to ensure full functionality
• Work independently in client environments with professionalism
• Communicate job progress, delays, or issues clearly to management
• Complete job documentation accurately and on time
• Follow all safety standards — no shortcuts
• Maintain tools, truck stock, and equipment in organized condition
• Support teammates and assist with training when needed
• Stay current with product updates and evolving technology

Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong low-voltage wiring knowledge
• Experience with IP cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels
• Ability to read prints and work without constant supervision
• Clean, organized workmanship — no sloppy wiring inside or outside panels
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Professional communication with customers
• Servicing customers withing Southern California region
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally), climb ladders, operate lifts, and work in tight spaces
