Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is seeking an experienced Technology Administrator responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, support, and security of Law Enforcement Unit technology, including EPASS and EVSS. The role is intermediate, with moderate complexity and no direct reports.

Responsibilities include system administration, badge issuance, fingerprinting, vulnerability management, and training of officers.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or commensurate specialized training, certification, or work experience.
• 3–5 years of professional work experience in law enforcement or related field or in an information technology role.
• Coursework or certifications in computer science or other technology related specialties.
• Knowledge of information security standards and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products including SharePoint.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal relationship building and collaboration skills.
• Experience with or interest in data analytics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance and provide technical support for security systems (EPASS and EVSS) to optimize configurations and detect abnormalities.
• Perform system administration for multiple applications and ensure audit compliance.
• Create and program identification badges for contractors and employees.
• Administer fingerprinting and background checks for personnel; manage automated fingerprinting system.
• Analyze software vulnerability alerts and perform patching as required.
• Maintain weekly virus definitions and monthly scans.
• Provide training to officers responsible for monitoring systems.
• Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports.
• Ensure security systems are tested and document testing activities.
• Participate in access reviews and maintain access records.
• Collaborate with peers to implement standard technology and share best practices.
