Job summary

Hyatt is seeking a Security Officer to ensure safety and comfort for guests and colleagues. You will patrol front and back of house areas and plant rooms, perform safety checks, and respond to incidents in line with Hyatt's standards.

The role requires a safety/security certificate, 2+ years in hospitality security, and strong observational and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and perform emergency procedures when needed.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Safety and Security.
• Minimum 2 years work experience as Security Officer in Hospitality industry.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations professionally.
• Basic first aid and CPR knowledge (certification preferred).
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.

Responsibilities

• Patrols front of house, back of house and plant rooms to ensure safety, security and comfort.
• Patrols public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
• Conducts enquiries and checks on all security and fire related incidents and submit initial reports.
• Ensures fire, life and safety systems are operational.
• Performs emergency procedures relating to fire, life and safety; e.g., such as attending to fire alarms and lift rescue.
