Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is hiring a Security Service Technician to independently service, troubleshoot, and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems. You will ensure systems operate correctly, meet customer expectations, and comply with codes.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read technical documents and wiring diagrams. Travel to job sites is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fire and life safety industry as apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if driving role).
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems.
• Diagnose system issues and implement corrective actions.
• Test and verify system functionality and compliance with codes and standards.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders on time.
• Communicate status and progress with customers, team, and supervisors.
• Follow all safety procedures and site requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
