Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work onsite with commercial clients to set up and program Integrated Security fire and security systems. You will also dismantle and reconstruct equipment as needed, ensuring safe installation and high-quality service.

You will read schematics, follow wiring diagrams, test system operation, and coordinate with local authorities. Experience with electrical/electronic equipment and strong customer service is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment as required.
• Works safely to avoid injuries and cleanup debris.
• Contacts customers prior to installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follows wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Tests system operation and communicates with the signal center.
• Reads building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles records.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it

• Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
• Follow proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

What we look for

Required

• A high school diploma or GED
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 6+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28-$38 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
