Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to set up and program integrated security systems on customer sites, and to dismantle/reconstruct equipment when needed. You will travel with a company vehicle, coordinate with authorities, and mentor junior team members while maintaining high safety and service standards.

The ideal candidate has a Journeyman or Oregon LEA license, 6+ years of electrical/electronic experience, and strong customer-focused communication skills to ensure seamless

Qualifications

  • Oregon LEA or Journeyman license required.
  • 25%–30% travel.
  • 6+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Experience bending conduit.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate a fleet vehicle.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment as required by customer.
  • Works safely to avoid injuries and clean installation debris.
  • Contacts customers before installation to verify schedule.
  • Prepares estimates per supervisor instructions.
  • Follows wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
  • Tests system operation and reports to the central monitoring.
  • Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Coordinates with police/fire departments and handles emergency notifications.
  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.
  • Travel required using company vehicle and equipment.

What you will do

As a critical part of the team, the Commercial Installer works onsite with our commercial customers to set up and program their Integrated Security fire and security systems. The Commercial Installer also dismantles and reconstructs equipment when necessary.

How you will do it
  • Installs appropriate devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.

  • Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.

  • Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.

  • Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.

  • Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.

  • Test's operation of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.

  • Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.

  • Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.

  • May manage installation teams on larger projects.

  • Coach and mentor less experienced installers.

  • Travel required, using provided company vehicle and equipment.

What we look for
Required
  • Oregon LEA or Journeyman license.

  • 25% - 30% travel

  • 6+ years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.

  • Experience bending conduit.

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.

  • Ability to always operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner.

  • Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Preferred
  • NICET Certification.

  • Wash ELO6 license

  • CCTV certifications.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $38-44 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
