Job summary

Jobot is seeking Security Systems Technicians and Lead Security Systems Technicians to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial security, access control, alarm, and video surveillance systems in the Madison, Wisconsin area.

Positions welcome varying experience levels; Lead technicians may independently run projects and guide other technicians, with company vehicle and regional travel where applicable.

Qualifications

• Commercial security systems experience preferred.
• Experience with access control, alarm, and/or video surveillance systems.
• Understanding of low-voltage cabling requirements and installation practices.
• Familiarity with tools and equipment used in commercial security installations.
• Working knowledge of low-voltage AC/DC power.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial security systems.
• Install and maintain access control field hardware and control panels.
• Install and maintain alarm system field hardware and control panels.
• Install and maintain video surveillance equipment and head-end equipment.
• Install and terminate Cat5/5e/6 and other low-voltage cabling.
• Perform cable terminations, equipment installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret blueprints and system documentation.
• Work with low-voltage power and use multimeters for testing.
• Program access control, alarm, and video surveillance systems as needed.
• Diagnose issues and implement safe solutions.
• Maintain records of labor, materials, and test results.
• Communicate with customers, project teams, and technicians.
• Lead projects and provide direction for Lead-level candidates.
