Job summary

IES is seeking a Solutions Engineer to provide internal and customer process analytics and support the sales team with customer-facing services and solutions. The role includes assisting in pre-construction deliverables and day-to-day requests.

The position is remote with responsibilities spanning design, analysis, and coordination across sales, project management, and operations. Requires 5+ years in telecommunications or related fields and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the sales team to design low-voltage solutions for IES clients.
  • Identifies customer service requirements and provides technical and engineering information.
  • Assesses cost-benefit ratios and proposes equipment or process changes.
  • Acts as liaison between sales, project management and operations at project turnover.
  • Prepares reports from site visits and customer meetings for the pre-construction & sales team.
  • Attend training and review sessions on technical requirements.
  • Participate in job turnover meetings to cover project details and expectations.
  • Handle other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary

The Solutions Engineer provides internal and customer process analytics and works with the sales team on customer‑facing services and solutions. The Sales Engineer will also assist in day‑to‑day pre‑construction deliverables and requests.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. The Sales Engineer will work with the sales team to design low‑voltage solutions for IES clients.
  2. Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and others who can understand service requirements; provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  3. Determines improvements by analyzing cost‑benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environments; engineers or proposes changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
  4. Acts as a liaison between and meets with sales, project management and operations when a project is turned over for installation.
  5. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from site visits/customer meetings for the pre‑construction & sales team.
  6. Attends training and review sessions on technical requirements per the Company’s training guidelines.
  7. Attends and completes job turnover meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of the project as they were designed.
  8. Handles other responsibilities as assigned.
Compensation

USD $65,000.00 / Yr. – USD $125,000.00 / Yr.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Must be able to learn Company and customer project management systems.
  • Must manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
  • Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • RCDD certification preferred.
  • Structured cabling industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
  • Must manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
