Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a Commercial Installer to work onsite with our commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems.

The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed, coordinating with police/fire departments, and preparing estimates. You will ensure safe installations, test operation, and read blueprints; on larger projects you may manage a team and coach less experienced installers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years electrical/electronic equipment experience with mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as needed as per customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Follow safety practices to prevent injuries and keep worksite clean.
• Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage required records.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Test system operation and relay results to the signal-receiving center.
• Read building/electrical/sprinkler blueprints as required.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects and mentor junior installers.
