Courser seeks a proactive Security Systems Engineer to lead security for Microsoft 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and cloud environments in a hybrid IT setting.

You will bridge systems administration and security engineering, implementing IAM, MFA, vulnerability management, and secure-by-design practices to protect data and services.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 5+ years of systems administration and security engineering.
• Technical Depth: Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure (AVD focus optional), and network security.
• Security Knowledge: Familiarity with NIST, CIS, or SOC 2 frameworks.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills bridging technical and business needs.
• Preferred Certifications: AZ-104, AZ-500, SC-300, and/or Security+.

Responsibilities

• Infrastructure & Systems Administration: Administer M365 tenants, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams; design and maintain AVD environments; manage device enrollment and patching via Intune/RMM.
• Security Engineering & Response: Embed security-by-design, manage IAM/MFA and privileged access; monitor threats; coordinate incident response and root-cause analysis; oversee vulnerability management.
• Governance & Support: Maintain documentation for SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST; provide tier-3 escalation support for service delivery and local leadership.
